GS Digital eLearning Academy

Educate - Empower - Evolve

GS Digital eLearning Academy

"Develop a successful mindset for tomorrow, by building your foundation today."

GS Digital eLearning Academy builds upon the rich legacy established by Pastor Gregory Sutton and First Lady Gail Sutton, whose contributions to community development and education have spanned over 50 years in Southwest Atlanta and beyond. Their commitment to uplifting underserved populations, fostering educational advancement, and nurturing community connections has laid the foundation for the academy’s mission.

As an Intellectual Property (IP) of CASS Digital Solutions, GS Digital eLearning Academy was founded by CEO Antonio Choice under Project Seraphim Angels With A Purpose Inc., a licensed nonprofit in Georgia.

This cutting-edge virtual academy focuses on Digital Literacy, Mental Literacy, and Financial Literacy, with a primary emphasis on programs for the incarcerated and youth between the ages of 13 and 18.

Mission Statement:

To empower underserved and incarcerated communities by closing the knowledge gap and providing equitable educational opportunities through transformative, accessible, and impactful learning experiences.

Vision Statement:
"Empowering underserved and incarcerated communities with accessible education that fosters growth, resilience, and opportunity."

Philosophy:

  • Educate: Equip learners with knowledge and skills.
  • Empower: Enable them to apply their learning for real-world impact.
  • Evolve: Foster personal growth into confident, self-sufficient individuals.

Core Values

  • Accessibility: Education that is inclusive and easy to access.
  • Empowerment: Tools and opportunities for personal and professional growth.
  • Inclusion: Programs tailored to underserved and justice-impacted communities.
  • Innovation: Leveraging cutting-edge technology and methodologies for impactful learning.

Key Initiatives

Incarcerated Learner Programs:

  • 12-month certificate-based curriculums focused on career skills, digital literacy, and financial literacy to prepare participants for reintegration.

Youth 13 - 18 and Adult Education

  • This 12-week program includes 60-minute weekly sessions, focusing on specific financial topic each week. Lessons blend lectures, interactive activities, group discussions, and homework assignments to reinforce learning.

Problem Statement

Justice-impacted individuals and underserved communities face significant barriers to accessing digital resources, limiting their education, employment, and societal engagement. This digital divide perpetuates social and economic inequalities and impedes successful reintegration.

Proposed Solutions

  1. Digital Skills Training:
Hybrid programs in Digital Literacy, Mental Literacy, and Financial Literacy, designed to provide certifications that enhance employability.

What Does Hybrid Mean?

The hybrid model combines the strengths of in-person learning and online education, providing a dynamic and flexible learning environment:

  • In-Person Sessions: Students attend scheduled classes to engage in hands-on activities, group discussions, and collaborative exercises.
  • Online Learning: Students complete assignments, explore multimedia resources, and participate in virtual discussions via GS Digital dedicated eLearning platform.

This approach offers:

  • Flexibility: Students can manage their schedules effectively, balancing other commitments.
  • Enhanced Engagement: The integration of technology with traditional teaching methods fosters greater motivation.
  • Skill Building: Students gain valuable experience in using digital tools and platforms, preparing them for future education and work environments.

Key Program Example: Personal Finance for Life and Freedom

Course Objectives:

  • Teach budgeting, credit management, and financial planning.
  • Equip participants with skills for independent living and goal setting.
  • Promote mental well-being by reducing financial stress.

Format:

  • Engaging lectures, hands-on activities, case studies, and personalized financial projects.

Why It Matters:

  • Economic Empowerment: Reduces poverty and dependence.
  • Recidivism Reduction: Financial stability supports lawful living.
  • Mental Health Support: Eases financial stress, promoting overall well-being.

Collaborative Vision

The partnership between CASS Digital Solutions and Reentry Arts Connection addresses digital inequities by merging technological expertise with creative expression, delivering scalable solutions for underserved communities.

Conclusion

GS Digital eLearning Academy, alongside its partners, aims to transform lives through education, innovation, and empowerment. By addressing the root causes of inequity and equipping justice-impacted individuals with critical skills, the academy fosters meaningful reintegration, reduces recidivism, and creates pathways for sustainable success.

This initiative underscores the belief that education is a powerful tool for transformation—one that can bridge gaps, open doors, and empower futures.
